Google AI Chat Service introduces Swahili Language

Google Ai Swahili Version

Google AI’s latest move towards embracing diversity and inclusion has brought Swahili to Bard, opening up a world of possibilities for Swahili speakers. This is a major milestone as Swahili becomes the first African Language to be included in any AI Chat service. It has been a mission in almost all sectors to ensure the inclusivity of Artificial intelligence in all localities and most importantly third-world countries. This is a result of its constant evolution.

 Artificial Intelligence Inclusion and Diversity

Google’s AI, Bard, is a conversational chat service that functions almost similarly to ChatGPT. The main difference is the former’s ability to source information directly from the web. The artificial intelligence platform is utilized to generate text, translate languages, and create content while answering questions in informative ways to boost productivity. This service was initially only available to English speakers.

The Introduction of Swahili to Bard is significant in the progression of the platform. As such, Google has opened up new opportunities in Artificial intelligence to East Africans and Swahili speakers worldwide. With over 100 million speakers, it is the most commonly spoken language in East Africa. Aside from that, Bard supports major global languages such as Chinese, German, Spanish, Arabic, and Hindi.

The addition of native languages to Bard reflects Google’s commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion across its products and services. Head of Communications and Public Affairs for SSA at Google, Dorothy Ooko said, “ We see this global availability as a great democratizer of knowledge.” She added that Bard explores human curiosity, augments imagination, and ultimately brings ideas to life.” The move is to provide more feedback about Google’s AI from an expanded audience.

What is Google’s New AI Chabot?

In addition to the 40 new languages expanding its access to 180 Countries and territories, Google has introduced new features to Bard.

One of them is Listen to Response feature which makes it simple to understand a script or get an accurate pronunciation with just one click on the sound icon. In the past, users provided a source of the images to Bard from Google search in English to get visual responses. However, the Company incorporated Google Lens into the chat service. This new feature allows users to upload images and text with prompts expressing their curiosity and exploration.

Furthermore, you can now customize the tone and style of Google’s Chabot response to suit your needs. This has allowed users to choose their preferred length or style by introducing options such as simple, short, professional, or casual.

Besides, it now has the option to pin a conversation to allow users to revisit their prompts and ideas later. This improvement is currently available in English but Google says plans are underway to make it available in the other languages.

Foreseeable Future of Googles AI Bard

Currently, coding has become a growing trend hence Google didn’t hesitate to jump on this train. Bard can now be used in coding tasks and allow exporting Python code to Replit, alongside Google Colab. This advancement which is available in over 40 languages allows more opportunities for coders to promote their productivity as well as improve their performance in mathematical tasks.

Bard has enabled sharing of conversations and ideas more simplified by adding shareable links. This has allowed the ability to collaborate and exchange creative ideas with all the users one wants to connect with.

In summary, the pursuit to be more inclusive in the accessibility by Google has opened up more expectations by other native language speakers to be incorporated into Bard which gives hope for a more advanced tomorrow.
