The Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi set the stage for the commencement of the yearly Global Partnership for Artificial Intelligence -GPAI Summit on December 12. The event saw deliberations on various AI topics, focusing notably on safety and developmental hurdles.

Comprising 28 nations and the European Union, the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) collaborates to comprehend the nuances of AI, addressing its challenges and potential opportunities while advocating for its responsible advancement. India has assumed the Chairmanship of GPAI for the year 2024.

PM Narendra Modi said “Our development mantra in India is, Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas. We have prepared government policies and programs inspired by the spirit of ‘AI For All’. Our endeavor is to take full advantage of the capabilities of AI for social development and inclusive growth. India is fully committed to responsible and ethical use of AI,”

PM Modi and Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Junior IT Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar emphasized AI’s potential to aid agriculture, personalized education, and healthcare. Vaishnaw expressed hope for a consensus on AI regulation by the summit’s conclusion.
